Each event has been so full of love, light and joy we just had to share! Please check some highlights and we expect to see you at the next one!
Unity Day
Unity Day was an event celebrating Juneteenth, Pride Month, Autism Awareness, Women's health Equity, and Women's Empowerment all while sharing a meal of Soul Food and handcrafted beer. We danced down a red carpet being our most authentic true selves, and we discussed what Juneteenth meant to us. It was truly a day focused on unity, love and acceptance.
Black History Month can be a boring topic for kids, like all history! This time we celebrated those children who are actually CREATING Black History! Our future authors, leaders, artists, poets, activists and athletes! Each child showcased their talent and received an award for their great works!
Holiday Party
We celebrated Christmas, Hanukah and Kwanza all in one! We had an author read a Kwanza story to the children and we listened to the history of Hanukah. Following story time, we had a community meal of turkey with all the fixings and then our guest of honor came out! Our community enjoyed free pictures with Santa while he handed out toys and books gifted to us! It was a joyous time to be had by all!
2023 Bookbag Drive
Our very first Bookbag Drive! It was hot and we sat in a parking lot waiting for donations. We came away with ONE box of donations to give to the Open Link. We are so grateful to those who saw our vision and muscled through with us that first year!
2023 Juneteenth
Our very first event! Our goal was to bring diversity, equity and inclusion to an area that has diverse residents but no actual diverse programs. We succeeded on this day, hit the ground running and never stopped. This is what PFI is about!
Community Events
We don't just do set events! You can find us at First Fridays, Community Days, Senior Centers, and even Trunk or Treats! We love serving our community!
